What Sets Us Apart
Led by a Fellow of the College of Optometrists Indiana Vision Development Center is the only optometric practice in Northeast Indiana to be led by a doctor who is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD). The doctor and his therapists have studied with top researchers and practitioners in the field of vision therapy, including completion of advanced training offered through the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF).
Customized Programs, One-On-One Sessions Each program is individually designed and monitored by a board certified developmental / behavioral optometrist, not just a “licensed optometrist”, to ensure the maximum benefit to the patient. We also offer customized programs for each visual problem, including strabismus (eye turn) and / or amblyopia (lazy eye), and acquired brain injuries (including both traumatic brain injuries and stroke) which affect visual function. We even have programs which work with athletes to improve their performance.
Because no two vision therapy programs are alike, each session is conducted one-on-one and monitored with timely progress evaluations by the doctor.
We treat the whole person rather than just the eyes Our vision therapy program includes visual-motor activities, visualization procedures and utilizes multiple modalities, including lenses, prisms and filters.
95% Success Rate We are proud to maintain a success rate of over 95% based both upon the increased visual function measured in our office as well as the surveys completed by our patients and their families at the end of the program.
Community Outreach Indiana Vision Development Center frequently offers free seminars to the public and other professionals such as primary-care optometrists, occupational therapists and educators. We speak frequently at home school meetings and to other parent groups.
